IES Software is responsible for the development of IES commercial software products as well as offering software solutions to specific problems.


The software group brings together people with extensive experience in managing large software developments, software engineering, database design, programming languages, as well as an extensive level of understanding and experience in the issues associated with software utilisation in energy markets.


The development methodologies utilised by the group also draw heavily on input for the advisory services and R&D groups.

IES markets two software products to the energy industry. These are the electricity market simulation model PROPHET and the data visualisation tool NEO. These tools are used extensively by companies trading in the Australian National Electricity Market, and also by companies in electricity markets outside of Australia.


IES provides training in the use of its software products in terms of both the theoretical underpinning and product application. IES has a schedule of standard courses as well providing individually tailored courses.
